Bill Pulos

Dedicated to community and doing public good, Bill Pulos has a combined 68 years of service to the town and village governments of Alfred. With Alfred as his hometown, he attended A.U. and graduated magna cum laude with his BA in Economics. However, his involvement with Alfred would endure; after attending Albany Law School Union University, he returned to open his own law practice on Main Street in Alfred. He is credited as the most senior attorney to have started a law practice in their native Allegany County.

In addition to his law-related passions, Bill was an adjunct Professor of Law at A.U. for nine years. He was a speaker concerning Personal Finance, Banking and Investments, and Physical Education, respectively. 

In 1985, he became the cofounder of the Alfred University Rugby Club. He coached for 16 seasons, helping the athletes earn a record that few colleges in New York could match. His book “The History of the Alfred University Rugby Club” is a collection of stories, articles, and photographs that chronicle 57 seasons of good standing. His piece is believed to be the first published book recording the history of a collegiate rugby club.
