Alumnus Trent Cooper ’93 co-produces documentary on football players fighting against Russian invasion
Alfred University alumnus Trent Cooper ’93 co-produced a documentary by “NFL360” which chronicles the lives of American football players in Ukraine fighting against the Russian invasion of their homeland.
The documentary, “Who If Not Us,” premiered on NFL Network on Christmas Eve following the broadcast of the Las Vegas Raiders-Pittsburgh Steelers game. In the film, NFL Network personality Kyle Brandt corresponds with members of the Ukraine League of American Football (ULAF) who have fought against the Russian forces which invaded Ukraine nearly 11 months ago.
Cooper and Brandt discussed the project in an interview with Rick Stroud, a sportswriter for the Tampa Bay Times.
Cooper, who earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Alfred University in 1993, is a renowned documentary filmmaker/producer whose work focuses on issues of social justice. He oversees NFL Network’s critically acclaimed series “NFL360” and has won five Emmys for sports features and documentaries that he produced and directed for the NFL.
