Alfred University equestrian program ranked nationally by online publication Equine Helper
Equine Helper, a website dedicated to horse owners and enthusiasts, has released its Top 10 national rankings of collegiate equestrian programs and Alfred University’s program is listed.
In its rankings, “The Best Colleges for Equestrians in the United States,” Equine Helper took into consideration opportunities for competition, boarding options, facilities size, and degree offerings. The rankings listed the top 10, in no particular order.
Alfred University offers varsity competition in the Western and hunt seat disciplines, through its affiliation with the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), and in dressage, through its affiliation with the Intercollegiate Dressage Association.
The University’s Equestrian Program facilities are among the best in the nation. Located on 400 acres atop Jericho Hill in the Town of Alfred, the Bromeley-Daggett Equestrian Center at Maris Cuneo Equine Park boasts a 200-by-800-foot indoor arena for competitions, classrooms, and 50 stalls used to house University-owned horses and also to board students’ horses. There are also two outdoor arenas and several acres of turnout fields and riding trails.
This fall, Alfred University will begin offering a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Business Management. The University also offers minors in Equestrian Studies and Equine Business Management.
