Alumni Spotlight is an electronic newsletter produced by the Alfred University Office of Marketing and Communications and published periodically throughout the year. It aims to highlight news and accomplishments of our amazing alumni. Alumni news is included in the Class Notes section of the Alfred alumni magazine, which is published twice a year. Alfred University honors Alumni Award winners at Reunion 2024

Alfred University presented its annual Alumni Awards during the 2024 Reunion Weekend, June 5-8. Five award winners were recognized for their contributions to Alfred University, their workplace and society in general.

Bob Beyer ’84 named assistant coach for Los Angeles Lakers

Alfred University alumnus Bob Beyer ’84 has been named an assistant coach for the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, serving under first-year head coach JJ Redick.

Daughters of Alfred University alumni play on lacrosse U20 world championship team

The daughters of Dan Callahan ’89 and Steve Argentieri ’90, former teammates on the Alfred University football team, competed in the U20 women’s lacrosse championships in Hong Kong last month, helping the United States team to a gold medal in the international competition.

Norwood Viviano ’95 wins Smithsonian award

Alfred University alumnus Norwood Viviano ’95, a member of the faculty in the Department of Visual and Media Arts (VMA) at Grand Valley State University, Allendale, MI, was named recipient of the Smithsonian Women’s Committee’s Delphi Award.
