Fearless Performance 6/23 - 6/27

Dates

June 23 to June 27, 2025

The Program

With Jeff Nelsen and Jessie Thoman

Join us for the Fearless Performance Workshop at Alfred University, open to all types of professional or amateur artists—whether you perform on stage, give presentations, showcase your work at exhibitions, create in the studio, or teach in a classroom. Wherever you perform, this workshop is for you!   Through daily performance opportunities, engaging discussions, and insightful lectures, you’ll explore the tenets of Fearless Performance. You'll develop and refine your presentation skills, mastering the art of delivering your best when it matters most.   Hosted by Jeff Nelsen, internationally acclaimed horn virtuoso from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, member of the Canadian Brass, and amateur magician, and Dr. Jessie Thoman, one of Jeff's first Fearless students, professor, performer, and Associate Dean of Performing Arts at Alfred University, this workshop digs deep into why fear often arises in performances. Jeff and Jessie will help you understand how fear influences your performance, no matter the setting, and teach you how to manage it to present your best self in every situation.
